#GivingTuesday is just two weeks away, and we couldn’t be more excited to unite with compassionate individuals like you to create positive change in the world. Together, we can celebrate the impact we make with youth at-risk who attend our community youth centers.
Your generous support will provide safe spaces for teens to build relationships that will help them overcome their challenges, offering them holistic care, mentorship, and the chance to give back. Together, we’re helping each young person explore their potential, recognize their worth, and find hope for a brighter future.
I'd like to share a couple of powerful stories that illustrate the impact we can have together:
Emily (staff) - The Vault Youth Centre
Just the other day, I encountered two young ladies, V and M, caught in a moment of crisis. Both were grappling with serious self-harm and suicidal thoughts, V was struggling due to an abusive relationship, while M had recently faced heartbreaking losses among her friends. In that chaotic moment, I challenged them to go one week without self-harming, promising a celebratory trip to the mall for ice caps if they succeeded. To our delight, they took on the challenge! A week later, we celebrated their resilience and their monumental step toward recovery.
This experience underscores how you are helping youth to find the nurturing relationships that they need to enhance their wellness and joy.
How Kera (youth) Found Connection at The Core Youth Centre
When Kera first arrived at The Core, she struggled with deep loneliness and suicidal thoughts. Over time, she became more engaged, sharing her past and her pain, and found comfort in the support of the team. After the loss of a friend, she withdrew, but we respected her boundaries while ensuring she knew she was seen and cared for. Before The Core shut down, Kera shared how the program helped her overcome loneliness and gave her the strength to keep going, expressing gratitude for the care and consistency she received, even when she pushed others away.
Because of you, Kera has found hope. As a dedicated supporter of Youth Unlimited, your generosity is more than a donation, it’s a lifeline for vulnerable youth like her.
Thank you for being the reason they find new possibilities.
With so many youth struggling with mental health challenges, you can provide the opportunity for them to build the valuable relationships needed to bring wholeness and hope, We’ve set an ambitious goal of raising $10,000 for our #GivingTuesday campaign. We know this will be a challenge to achieve in just 24 hours, but we believe in the goodwill of our incredible supporters and community.
Youth in Edmonton would be deeply grateful for your support on #GivingTuesday. If you’d like to help now, please follow us on social media and share our message using #GivingTuesday.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support!
Warm regards,
Michele Lloyd
